February-during Cedarburg's Winter Festival

The IceBurg Open is a winter golf outing where golfers play 18 holes of golf in and around Cedarburg's Cedar Creek Park. Golfers are allowed to use one club (usually a 5 iron) to hit a tennis ball from the tee area to the hole (tire with flag) in the least amount of strokes. This can be quite a challenge while maneuvering in and around the snow, trees, and frozen creek. Prizes are given away for such accomplishments as longest drive, closest to the hole, lowest score as well as many others. Afterwards, there is a spaghetti dinner at the Cedarburg Legion where the awards, door prizes, and raffles are drawn then given away.

If you are in Cedarburg during the Winter Festival, remember to bring your 5 iron and three of you friends.

If you wish to become a hole sponsor, donate a prize, or participate in this years outing, call or fax us at 414-228-4402 or email us.

In addition to recycling your old eyeglasses and hearing aids, the Richfield Lions Club is involved in the community in many ways. Our focus areas are sight and hearing and children’s causes. Each year the club hosts a peace poster contest, a student speakers contest and community barbecues.

We are most proud of our sight and hearing work where we offer free hearing and vision tests throughout the community. Each year using state of the art equipment we test children and adults in the community for hearing loss, glaucoma and other sight related problems.

Our Club also performs hands-on community service through Lions Crew at Work projects, including remodeling a non-profit community center, painting a shelter for the homeless or repairing a public park or playground.

As Transporters for the Wisconsin Lions Eye Bank, we transport corneas to and from our main medical facility. There, they recover, evaluate, store and distribute human eye tissue for vision restoration, research and education. Eye surgeons rely on eye banks to supply them with tissue for sight-saving procedures.

Our health programs to control and prevent diabetes and diabetic retinopathy, the leading cause of vision loss in adults.

We do so much more but the best way to learn about What We Do is be our guest at our monthly meeting. We welcome guests with open arms.
